Detailed 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival, Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

To start this trip, you need to be arriving in the country in the early morning hours or already in Rwanda (We can arrnage your arrival too).

Upon arrival, our driver/guide will receive you at the airport or any hotel of your choice in Kigali and brief you on what our 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda safari includes, what you should expect and you will be allowed to ask anything you would like to know.

Kigali City Tour

Our guide will then take you a Kigali City Tour to the various sites that include the museums like the Presidential Palace museum, local markets and if time you will visit the Nyamirambo women’s centre.

After lunch, you will embark on a trip to Volcanoes National Park which is situated in 104KM from Kigali. You will enjoy a scenic drive to park which introduces you the rolling hills and valleys, various roadside communities and much more. You will arrive at your lodge later in the day, have dinner and then rest.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Iby’Iwacu Cultural Tour.

Wake up excited because this is the day you will get to see man’s closest relative in their natural habitat on this 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Safari.

After your early morning breakfast, our driver/guide will transfer you to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the guidelines to follow during gorilla trekking and while close to the mountain gorillas.

After briefing, you will be assigned a particular gorilla family depending on your level of fitness. Volcanoes National Park is home to 10 habituated gorilla family and these are found in various places within the park.

You will then be led into the dense rainforest with the help of armed rangers and a guide. During your gorilla trekking experience in the forest, you will get to see the other wildlife species in the forest that include butterfly species, birds, and much more.

On a clear day, you may as well get to enjoy the scenic views of the other volcanoes.

 

Upon seeing the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to spend time of up to 1hr while observing and taking as many photos as you want of these species as they feed, play and breastfeed their young ones. The experience is absolutely rewarding and exceptional.

After the 1hr, you will be led back to the park headquarters where our guide/driver will pick you and take you back to your lodge for lunch. You will then be led to the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural experience.

Iby’iwacu cultural village is situated in Musanze district around Volcanoes National Park and while here you will get the opportunity to watch the beautiful Rwanda culture, listen to the folk songs and also enjoy the great Kinyarwanda dance.

Our driver/guide will then pick you up and take you back to your lodge for dinner and then resting.
