Detailed 3 Days Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Tour in Rwanda:
Day 1: Arrival, Briefing, City Tour and Transfer to Nyunge Forest National Park;
Upon your arrival in Rwanda, you will be met by our guide/driver who will brief you on each and everything you need to know about the 3 Days Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trekking Safari and canopy walk tour.
Our driver will then take you on a brief Kigali City Tour to explore so much this beautiful city also known as Africa’s most clean city does have within her boundaries. These include the Kigali genocide memorial centre, local markets museums among others.
Have lunch within the city and then embark on a 4hour – 4.5hour trip to the south western part of the country to Nyungwe Forest National Park – the best place to see chimpanzees in Rwanda. Upon arrival in the park, check in to your lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk;
After an early morning breakfast, our driver/guide will transfer you to the park headquarters to brief you about the guidelines and rules you need to follow while trekking and when with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
After briefing, an armed ranger and a guide will then lead you into the rainforest in search of chimpanzees. Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park takes between 2-6hours depending on the location of these endangered species.
Upon spotting them, you are allowed to spend not more than 1 hour observing and taking as many photos and videos of them as they hop on tree branches, play and much more. The park ranger and guide will transfer you back to the park headquarters where our driver will meet you and take you back to your hotel/lodge for lunch.
After lunch, there’s another exciting activity that will be waiting on and that is the canopy walk. The canopy walk gives you the opportunity to spot various species like birds, monkeys and much. This also will give you stunning views of the forest right from above which is a breathtaking experience like no other.
Our driver will then transfer you back to your lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kigali from Nyungwe Forest National Park;
Start your day with an early morning breakfast and check out of your lodge, ready for the journey back to Kigali. On your way, enjoy a special detour to the serene local Gisakura Tea Plantation, one of the most picturesque places in Rwanda.
Here, you’ll have the chance to witness the fascinating process of tea production and indulge in the lush greenery of the plantations.
After this refreshing visit, continue your trip with a stopover at the Ethnographic Museum, also known as the National Museum of Rwanda. This visit offers a deep insight into the Rwandan culture, its history, and the profound impact of the 1994 genocide.
